Welcome to Friz
This document outlines the terms for using the Friz application. By using Friz, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Core Philosophy: Friz is designed as a focused, local-first tool. Your data—measurements, projects, collections—resides solely on your device. There is no cloud sync, no account sign-in, and no data collection for profiling or advertising.
1. The Friz Workflow
Friz provides a suite of tools for creating precise, visually consistent measurement graphics for mechanical keyboards.
- Capture & Import: Use your device's camera or import existing images of your keyboard.
- Measure & Calibrate: Draw digital rulers directly on the image. Calibrate them against real-world reference objects from a built-in library, which you can extend with your own custom sizes.
- Define Dimensions: Assign specific width, depth, and height values to your measurements.
- Visual Tuning: Adjust on-image layout presets and listing backdrops to match your style.
- Export & Share: Generate a sharp, high-quality image ready to save to your photo library for posting on forums, marketplaces, or social media.
2. Your Data & Privacy
Friz operates on a principle of local data sovereignty.
- Device-Only Storage: All projects, listings, collections, and measurement data are stored exclusively on the device where the app is installed. They are not transmitted to any external servers.
- No Account Required: You can use all features of Friz immediately without creating an account, providing an email, or using a social login.
- No Tracking: The app does not employ analytics, tracking pixels, or any form of behavioral monitoring. Your usage patterns remain private.
- Data Portability & Backup: It is the user's responsibility to manage backups of their device, which will include Friz's local data. The app may provide export functions for projects, but core data does not leave your device unless you explicitly share an export.
3. Project Organization
Friz helps you manage your keyboard photography projects efficiently.
Listings
A "Listing" is a saved project containing your measured image, its calibration data, dimensions, and visual settings. It is the primary unit of work in Friz.
Collections
Group related Listings into "Collections" for better organization (e.g., "60% Boards," "Group Buy Photos," "Personal Collection").
Search, Filters & Compare
Use text search and filters to quickly find any board in your library. The "Compare View" allows you to place two or three setups side-by-side for detailed visual analysis.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Friz only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others, or restrict anyone else's use of the app. You may not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the application.
5. Intellectual Property
The Friz application, its logo, UI design, and all underlying code are protected intellectual property. The images you create using Friz are your own. Friz claims no ownership over the photos you import or the final export images you generate.
6. Disclaimer
Friz is a tool for creating visual measurement references. While designed for accuracy, the precision of measurements depends on user calibration and image quality. Friz is provided "as is" for creative and illustrative purposes. The developers are not liable for any decisions made based on measurements taken with the app.
